Our Coaches

WCN is committed to providing quality coaching to all our athletes. We have a team consisting of both paid and volunteer coaches.

Glenn Rupertus is the head coach of WCNC.  Glenn is a three time biathlon olympian. He currently resides in Squamish BC and he coaches year round for WCNC running summer camps, fall dry land and winter training sessions at Whistler Olympic Park, as well as coaching  athletes at competitions. In addition to his duties with WCNC Glenn is also the regional coach for the provincial biathlon development squad.

Tony Tsang is an NCCP Level 2 and IC2 in Biathlon and Community Coach in Cross Country Skiing.  Tony‘s focus is on developing younger talents in marksmanship and cross country skiing so that they will be ready for the rigorous training and competitions at the National level and beyond.  Besides promoting athletic excellence, he is also actively promoting the sport of Biathlon, and organizing and running Biathlon competitions.  Tony is also heavily involved in the Cadet Biathlon Program.

Peter Algra is a volunteer coach and parent of WCNC biathletes as well as current president of WCNC.  Peter is currently working on his coaching certification. He is trained as a Competition Introduction Coach and is working on his evaluations.
